EASY-SPROUTING is hassle-free, practical, and fun. The quart-size, dual container system is ideal for sprouting seeds. Its convection action provides continuous ventilation, humidification and warmth. Seeds are rinsed, soaked and stored in the same container, taking up little space.
Benefits include larger batches, less time to harvest (8-48 hours!), minimal sprout disturbance, longer storage life, and the ability to grow sprouts with no rinsing.
WHEN A SEED SPROUTS -
Stored food & enzymes needed for growth of the mature plant are mobilized. Protein, carbohydrate & fat is broken down (pre-digested) to free amino acids, simple sugars & soluble compounds. Vitamins, including A, B-complex (B-12), C, E, & K, increase to meet the growth needs of a young plant. (For example, B-complex in wheat increases 600%, vitamin E triples and vitamin C increases six-fold. ) - calcium, magnesium, iron & zinc are supplied in organic form, "chelated" for better assimilation. Nutrient density is enhanced at the expense of calories!
From the mailbox…. Hi Pat, Just wanted to let you know I received my package the other day and love it!!!! No way should any bird be without sprouts when it's this simple! Thanks! Paula
1 Qt. Easy Sprout - $ 12.00
SPROUT MIXES: 1. An organic blend of grains, seeds and legumes: corn, brown rice, oat groats, wheat berries, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, red lentils, adzuki beans, mung beans, garbanzo beans. All certified organic with the exception of the sunflower. $ 4.75 - 1-3/4 lbs. Suggested Sprouting Method: Rinse seeds well under warm water, until the water runs clear. Soak mix for 12-24 hours (this helps leach out the natural toxins found in most beans). (Soaking water should completely cover seeds by 1-2 inches.) Rinse well in warm water and drain. Sprout about 24 hours (depending on climate) rinsing every 12 hours. Sprouts get bitter if they are allowed to sprout too long - you generally don't want the "tail" to be over 1/4" long. Rinse well before serving. You can make enough for three days at a time. Keep the left-overs refrigerated and rinse before each serving. 2. Overnight sprout mix great for the smaller birds (as well as the larger): Sunflower seeds, millet, quinoa, amaranth, sesame seeds, wheat berries, oat groats, mung beans, small red lentils. Directions: As above, but soak for only 6-12 hours, let them sprout overnight, rinse well and serve. $ 2.75/lb.
Benefits of Sprouts: * Easily digestible * Extremely nutritious - contain vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and amino acids. * Whole, living food - no chemicals or preservatives! * Birds love them!
